Tephrosia lepida subsp. nigrescens merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Tanzania hingga Zambia. Nama ilmiah Tephrosia lepida subsp. nigrescens diperkenalkan oleh Richard Kenneth Brummitt pada tahun 1968.
