Thermopsis californica var. semota merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah California barat daya. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan california goldenbanner. Nama ilmiah Thermopsis californica var. semota pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Willis Linn Jepson pada tahun 1994.
