Trichomanes melanotrichum merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Hymenophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan, Madagaskar, Mauritius, Réunion. Nama ilmiah Trichomanes melanotrichum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal pada tahun 1825.
