Trichomanes ovale merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Hymenophyllaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco), hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan eggleaf bristle fern. Nama ilmiah Trichomanes ovale pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Eugène Pierre Nicolas Fournier pada tahun 1962.
