Viguiera maculata merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko (Puebla). Nama ilmiah Viguiera maculata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Sidney Fay Blake pada tahun 1913.
