Vriesea procera var. tenuis merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Bromeliaceae (suku nanas-nanasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil (Bahia hingga São Paulo). Nama ilmiah Vriesea procera var. tenuis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Lyman Bradford Smith pada tahun 1943.
