Daun perak merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Gesneriaceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Episcia reptans ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Daun perak juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu jenggot yahudi. Nama ilmiah Episcia reptans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1829.
