Manihot tristis subsp. saxicola merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Selatan bagian utara hingga Brazil (Amapá). Nama ilmiah Manihot tristis subsp. saxicola pertama kali dipublikasikan pada tahun 1973.
