Rhododendron maximum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan great laurel. Nama ilmiah Rhododendron maximum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
