Rhododendron ripleyi var. basitrichum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma pegunungan tropis di wilayah Sumatra Utara. Nama ilmiah Rhododendron ripleyi var. basitrichum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Hermann Otto Sleumer pada tahun 1960.
