Canarium vulgare merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Burseraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Di Indonesia tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan nama kanari, ki tuwak (Jawa), atau jal (Ambon). Nama ilmiah Canarium vulgare pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Pieter Willem Leenhouts pada tahun 1955.
